Girls involved in Community Engagement had a busy weekend.
The DSG Staff children's camp took a committment from the girls of many hours this weekend in which they mentored and partnered with our DSG staff children. It was good to see the girls making an effort to get to know the children. Many new friendships blossomed as the girls watched the children undertake activities they had never previously had the opportunity to try. Some of the girls stayed the night to watch over the children and were said to have carried sleepy children back to the beds at midnight. This was certainly going the extra mile and was much appreciated by us all. The staff children behaved very well and I think we have all come away with a new sense of respect for the staff's role as parents. I think each of us present on this camp has also been challenged to see our DSG staff in a new way.
