A group of 11 SAC boys (team name: All Blacks) won the tournament against The Pink Panthers, which was a group of mixed DSG girls and SAC boys. This team came second. The best dressed group were The G-town Pirates, who put a great deal into their outfits. This is the second Soccer Evening that has received wonderful support once again. Girls enjoy playing a sport that they do not usually play and the boys see this as a chance to practice skills viewed on TV. All together there were +/- 15 teams that entered and it was a process of elimination. In the final game the two teams had to move into penalties after the extra 1 minute aside. The team that won received a generous picnic basket while the second team received a cake. The money raised will go towards the Home of Joy, an organization that DSG has supported for 3 years and we will continue to interact with. Thanks must go to Mr. Xentawana and Rev. Sue who supervised as well as Kirtsy Walker and Mary-Anne Brown who were coordinating the event, and the other interact board members; Nomtha Ngumbla, Kelly Hart and Alice Ter Morshuizen. Over all it was a successful and highly enjoyable event that allowed for the school to interact through Soccer.
