Short Story Writing Competition
Last year I received an invitation from "Story Publishers", based in Kwa-Zulu Natal, to enter our girls into a short story writing competition. Schools from all over the country entered and the condition was that the girls not be over the age of 13 yrs old.  The grade 7s were very interested in participating as not only were there were prizes to be won, but a book was being published with their stories in.  After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for the results, we were delighted to hear that two of our girls were placed in the top seven.  Bridget Price was awarded second place with her story titled "The Dream" and Sabrina Long was awarded 7th placed with her story titled "Blanca Peak".  We are very proud of them and congratulate them on their fine achievement.  We hope that this serves to encourage all our girls to try their hand at using their imaginations and becoming authors in the making!
