Music Honours Award: Catherine Hodgson
Catherine entered the Senior School in 2003 and at that stage was already playing the piano at approximately Grade 4/5 level. She has continued to improve her playing skills to a high level and last year passed her Grade 8 Trinity College examination with merit. She is currently preparing for a Performer's Certificate. She has been a consistently conscientious and diligent musician throughout her school career.
Catherine also started learning the oboe in the Junior School and has become a useful player, playing both in the Wind Orchestra and in the Senior Orchestra. As such, she has represented the school on 3 tours and been involved in playing for several school musicals. She is one hundred per cent reliable in her attendance of rehearsals and performances and is always o-cooperative and helpful.
Catherine is a regular performer at Open Concerts and has, form time to time, played the piano for the Orchestra as well. See also assists in the Junior Orchestra as a pianist.
