GOING GREEN

The Eco-Schools Programme began in South Africa in 2003. The programme is supported by WWF-SA and the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA). The programme is funded by TetraPak and is endorsed by the Department of Education. Currently there are 1000 schools registered with the programme and The Diocesan School for Girls is one of them. The mission of the Eco-Schools Programme is to promote public participation in caring for the Earth.

Shelley Frayne (Headmistress of DSG) and Brittany Barrowcliffe are seen in the photo with the Eco-School flag.
