Over the past few months, several DSG girls have participated in fund raising activities that have generated R5000 a cheque for which was presented to Hospice’s Dave Barker this morning.

Six Interact Board girls, together with Sue Paton, organised the school Valentine Fun Run and the much-enjoyed DSG and SAC Soccer Evening to raise the funds.

Thanking the girls for their efforts and for the large donation, Dave Barker explained that at present, Hospice is caring for over 300 patients monthly, 30% of whom are under the age of 18.  Hospice supplies patients with cooked food, clothing, bedding and nappies for the extreme cases.  Barker said although some of their patients are terminally ill, Hospice’s main objective is to improve the quality of life they have left.
