Royal Academy of Dance Pre-exam workshops in Port Elizabeth

On the weekend of the 17th to 21st of September, 14 of our dancers were fortunate enough to have the wonderful opportunity to be taught by and learn from professional RAD examiner, Celeste Fair. The girls and one boy participated in a Vocational grade exam workshop in Port Elizabeth which was organised by the Royal Academy of Dance in preparation for their exams that take place from 20-23 October.  Although the commute was a rather long one, the experience was invaluable.  The dancers learnt what was expected of them in their respective exams; were given useful tips and most importantly learnt how far they could push themselves and what they could achieve. They also got the opportunity to dance in the hall where their exams will be held and were given constructive criticisms that will allow them to continue to improve right up until the day of their exams. Mrs. Fair was able to combine a ‘no-nonsense’ attitude with the right amount positivity and encouragement so that the dancers came away from the experience having learnt a great deal and feeling wholly positive about the challenges ahead.

The exams are now 3 weeks away and the dancers are all training incredibly hard. We would like to thank our teacher Miss. Potgieter and her assistant Cath Walters for arranging the whole event and supporting us throughout this year.  We couldn’t do it without you!
