EP Swimming Champs
Date : 6th December 2011

We had a very successful gala.
All the girls and boys swam personal best times.
Robyn Charter defended her EP 100 m freestyle title with a fanastic swim winning by over a body length, in a new EP record of 59.79 secs. She also won the 50  backstroke. She got 2nd in the 50 free by 2 100ths of a second, the winner being Tammy Price. She won a bronze in the 200 freesyle.
Simon Pheasant won the 50 free in a time of 23.83 and came 2nd in both the 50 fly and 50 back by split seconds.
Hannah Rippon won a bronze medal in the girls 13/14 200 breast.
Claire Ter Morhuizen swam a colours time of 2.23.18 in the 200 free. In the 400 free she came down 16 secs. Her time was 5.00.mins. It is worth noting that when I got here the colours time for the 400 at St Andrews was 5.10.MJ Rosslee came from behind to win a bronze in the 200 breast.
Tilabo Williamson swam a 32.99 in the 11/12 50 free.
Nicky Smith, Jess White, Coralie Richardson, Cadyn Barker, Dayle Mc Loughlin , Emily Richardson all had personal best times some by a few seconds.
Ralph Goviea, now swimming in the 15 and over age group, some boys in late teens and even 20, swam the 200 im in a college open record of 2.24.
Kelly Long brought her 50 breast time to 36.92 a new U/ 16 record. In the 100 breast her time was 1.27.20, the DSG open record is 1.27.15.Unfortunately her goggles filled with water on her start which put her off her rythm in the first length.
So all in all very satisfying. I hand over a program with stars and future stars.
