Erin Graham came 3rd in the 50 free

Kelly long got colours in 50 breast & also broke the school U14 record with a time of 39.50sec.

Dayle McLoughlin, Jess White, Courtney Munna, Claire ter Morshuizen, Victoria Dreyer and Nikki Smith all swam well and most achieved their best times.

Mr Tudor Lacey coached these girls along with a number of other Grahamstown pupils and his team brought home 29 medals - 11 gold, 12 silver and 6 bronze. This show’s Mr Lacey’s brilliant work in the swimming.

Waterpolo

Border during December

U19A finished 3rd (Rebecca Dakin)

U15A finished 5th (Lisa Woker & Kenyan Smith)

U14A finished 2nd (Robyn Anderson & Tasneem Jacobs)

U14B played well but unfortunately finished last (Lisa Frew & Jade Pinkney)

Rowing

Boat Races – 4-5 December

First quad of Jenienne Curr, Kayleigh Scheepers, Penny Vorster, Georgie Edwards, and coxed by Liz Abel rowed superbly on Saturday where they won their heats.

Finals days on Sunday and the DSG quad were narrowly beaten by St Andrews Girls School from Gauteng. The girls have said this won’t be repeated at SA Champs in March!

Rowing Camp - January

21 girls enjoyed a rowing camp in Port Alfred last week and the beginning of this week. It was good to welcome 6 new girls to rowing, and we hope they have been bitten by the rowing bug and will continue to participate this term.
