Gala Dinner
Date : 21st July 2011

In celebration of its 137th birthday, DSG hosted a spectacular Gala Dinner at the 1820 Settlers’ Monument on Saturday 16 July. Over 200 guests enjoyed an evening of connecting, reminiscing and laughing with old and new friends over excellent food and delicious wines.

The Master of Ceremonies, Gillian van Houten, expressed her delight and pride as a DSG parent. Shelley Frayne, the Headmistress of DSG, reviewed many of the exceptional achievements that DSG has enjoyed over the past few years and highlighted the significant successes that many girls have attained both during their years at DSG and after.

Di Wilmot, Chairman of the DSG Council, and Colin Meyer, member of the DSG Council, shared DSG’s long-term strategic plans. A significant investment into the development of both academic and residential facilities will ensure that DSG continues to provide an exceptional boarding school experience for many generations to come.

Numerous artworks, travel packages and cases of wine were successfully auctioned by Dave Mullins.

The evening continued long after the official ceremonies were concluded with many couples dancing late into the night.
