DSG U16A, 2nd and 1st team hockey and 1st team netball played against Herschel, from Cape Town, on Friday afternoon and evening. The school was out in full force creating a great atmosphere at the netball and hockey. The netball was a closely fought match and was an exciting game to watch. Unfortunately DSG lost 16-19. The 1st team hockey saw some excellent hockey being played and was an extremely fast and exciting game under lights. The DSG girls fought hard and we rewarded with a 1-0 victory.

On Saturday, majority of the hockey and netball teams played against Pearson in nice warm weather. The hockey games were all closely contested with most of the matches ending with only 1 goal being scored. The 1st team hockey match was played at a slower tempo compared to Friday night, but the girls managed to put a goal away in the 1st half and they held off an attacking 2nd half from Pearson to finish the game winning 1-0. The netball games saw mixed results and the 1st team narrowly lost out on a win.
