Dear Parents, Staff and Old Girls,
RE: THE D6 COMMUNICATOR (and better communication)
Hopefully you have received the newsletter from the Marketing Department detailing our latest moves to try and improve our communication between the school and yourselves. I would like to draw your attention more specifically to the D6 School Communicator.
The D6 Communicator is a web-based application that you download from the Internet and is specific to our school. It is a programme on which the DSG can upload the latest information for you to see. This will cut out bulk e-mail and other forms of communication that we currently use, and which often results in delivery problems.
In order to download the programme you will need to go to the website:
www.school-communicator.com/downloads
Select our school (THE DIOCESAN SCHOOL FOR GIRLS) from the drop down menu and then click on either ‘Mac’ or ‘Windows’, depending on which computer you run. Further installation instructions can be found in the attached letter from D6.
Once the programme has been installed, it is important that you personalise the programme by selecting the ‘channels’ your daughter(s) is/ are involved in. This means that you will only receive communication that pertains to your daughter(s).
The big innovation from D6 is that the School Communicator is now available as a Wap (cell phone) website. You can download this on your phone by going to the link:
Again here you will need to select the school (THE DIOCESAN SCHOOL FOR GIRLS) from the drop down menu. Remember to save the sight in your ‘favourites’ folder!
As we are in the early phases of the programme, not all information will be on the site yet. We will, however, be posting ALL SPORT information here in addition to the current bulk e-mail that gets sent out and will post the latest newsletters and news. Hopefully this will help with the e-mail delivery problems we have been experiencing. In time we will be phasing out the bulk e-mail system.
I welcome feedback and suggestions in order to get our communication moving in the right direction.
Kind regards,
David Wright
Deputy Head
