SOUTH AFRICAN AIR RIFLE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Three shooters from DSG qualified for these Championships that were held in Sasolburg last weekend.
The team score from Laura Bryan, Michaela Leppan and Niso Kamardinova placed them 3rd in the Under 20 Age Group, and it was a moment of immense pleasure for me to watch them receive their medals at the Prize Giving at the conclusion of the Championships. Niso had a very good shoot and was awarded bronze in the U14 individual event. It is only at a National Championship that provincial colours can be awarded, since shooters are required to obtain a minimum qualifying score laid down by the South African Air Rifle Association for such awards to be made. Both Michaela and Niso more than met the minimum scores and were awarded EP Junior colours. Our congratulations go to all three young ladies on an excellent showing. Report by Pepe Morton
