Kelly Long (Grade 9 at the Diocesan School for Girls) recently attended the National Science Expo along with a number of other participants from the Eastern Cape.
There were around 1000 projects presented there and Kelly was one of the youngest to be presenting as the Expo is open to learners up to Grade 12 level.
She was awarded a GOLD medal for her project and was one of 30 to be selected for the first round of interviews for the International Science Expo.
She attended the interview while there and is now one of 30 to make it into the second round of interviews which will take place later this year.
Kelly also received a special award from SAICE Water Engineering Division as her project is related to water conservation.
