Dear Members of Council, Parents and Friends of the DSG
Matric Results 2011
It is with a great sense of pride and delight that I take this opportunity to convey to you last year’s Matric results. The Matrics of 2011 are a phenomenal group of girls and their final results bear testimony to this. All 52 of them achieved Matric with BD (Bachelor’s Degree). This qualifies all of them for degree study at university. Our 100% BD pass compares exceptionally favourably with the IEB National average of 81.6%.
There are some remarkable individual results. Josephine Llewellen Palmer was listed on the IEB’s Commendable List. Matrics who are placed in the top five percent of all candidates in at least five subjects are selected for this esteemed commendation. I congratulate Josie on this superb achievement!

These results reflect hours of hard work by the girls as well as the commitment and dedication of the DSG and St Andrew's teachers. I thank them all and congratulate them most warmly.
I wish to take this opportunity also to congratulate our brother school, St Andrews College. Charles Price-Smith was placed on the IEB Commendable List and William Cahill achieved eight subject distinctions. St Andrews College also attained a 100% pass rate.
I wish all of you a happy and prosperous 2012 and special best wishes to the Matrics of 2011. They have a solid foundation on which to pursue the next phase of their academic careers and I wish them well in their future endeavours.
Yours faithfully
